I have yet to see the average NATO fanatic give any credence to the right of self determination of the Russian speaking people of eastern Ukrainian territory(LPR and DPR) who since 2014 have been under constant bombardment assassination of their leaders and terrorism(literal crucifixions of civilians by uniformed Ukrainian soldiers). The only mistake Putin made was to not launch the SMO sooner.

This is a very false understanding of what actually happened. There was no political movement requesting self determination in those parts of the country. They were immediately invaded by Russian troops in 2014.
Imagine if Mexico invaded Texas and demanded that the latinos in Texas be given self-determination. You think the US government would give credence to that?
