I think "truth-forum" to the extent this is possible (with inevitable flaws) is one of the best uses of social media. as a predictive model building tool, and coordination mechanism and Treechat is an attempt at maximizing this capability (among other things). We can certainly make design decisions which help this cause instead of hurting it
