The world is in chaos right now. People are afraid, and that fear is leading them into stagnation. Do not give in to this temptation.

Constantly focusing on trivial "new" information (i.e. looking at virus infection counts every hour,) is a terrible idea.

This also goes for conspiracy theories and speculation. If it isn't new information, based on some verifiable fact, then it's outside of your scope of either influence or control and therefor a waste of your time and energy.

This should NOT be misconstrued to suggest you should stop paying any attention - instead, limit your focus to new, significant information that has some meaningful connection to something you either directly influence or control.

Rehashing the same information is a natural response to crisis, it's a psychological stress response as people try to make sense of the shock to their world... But it is not productive past an early stage.

Instead, take your conclusions and create a plan of action, then execute on that plan, and retain a willingness to adjust to *new* and *significant* information.

This is the best you can do in a chaotic world, and the fastest route to stability.
