I think many newcomers are in a rush to get in the mix here hoping to realize gainz. Gotta earn it. Make it easy to sort first posts w original content to top of the First feed. Maybe prioritize users who also upload unique photo. Incentivize entry effort.

Especially when battling into the leaderboard, existing users are looking for new content to interact with. You can see people doing just that.

I don’t know what it looks like but maybe alter the introductory post form to show a blank slate with the directive to write your first post below or choose one of the following templates. Maybe the lack of originality is a product of the presentation?
