The WOKE brigade is the most dangerous formation the West has ever seen. Instead of foreign battalions, our war is with internal ones whose goal is to completely transform our society.
It's a psychological war with potentially disastrous consequences.

uh no it's just nice people informing themselves and one another about social issues and how to best care for people who have been harmed by society while you freak out about it for some reason

Twetch ·

Nope. The brigade consists of various battalions such as socialists, communists, modern feminists, climate alarmists etc. All hell bent on replacing capitalism by fear & pandering.
But there has never been a more prosperous period. Thanks to capitalism!

Capitalism is a basically unstable and destructive system. You probably mean free markets. I'm also in favor of free markets. You just think about arguments in favor of free markets and think you're winning; really you're entirely missing the point. Sorry.

Twetch ·

Why is capitalism unstable & destructive?
Free markets are a part of capitalism but not its entirety. Individual rights & adherence to common law are vital components which result in lawful free markets. This is capitalism. You are missing the point!

Twetch ·

It's unstable because if not everyone has access to capital those who do have access to capital thereby naturally form a class, which acts collectively to deny access to capital to those outside of the class and thus destroys the meritocracy of the market.

Twetch ·

We are not equal & should never aim to be. We do deserve equal opportunity where merit is rewarded & equal treatment under the law. Class formation is unavoidable, whether economic or social.
Define "deny access to capital"? And why would they?

Twetch ·

If you need more help for your intuition, imagine a hypothetical situation where ALL of the capital needed to produce value is ALL, every single bit of it, owned by one guy, Bob. Does Bob EVER have a motive to sell rather than rent his capital to anyone???

Twetch ·

Nobody said anything about everyone being equal??? Try not to argue with straw. If you think about it, it should be obvious why a subset of people who own all of the means of production have no motive to allow anyone else to enter that class. Simple logic.

Twetch ·

It always comes back to "equal". Why would everyone deserve access to capital? The people who own "the means of production" have it because they are more effective when deploying their capital. If they don't compete they get replaced. Numerous examples.

Twetch ·

OK, fine, argue with the people who believe in equality in your head. Just so long as you understand you're not talking with socialists, and we're not talking about you when we say "capitalist." We're defending your interests whether or not you understand.

Twetch ·

Tell me how would Bob manage to gain ALL capital. This can never happen in a capitalist society. Now can a small group end up controlling a vast majority of capital, yes of course. Because they are more effective at deploying it. What's wrong with loans?

Twetch ·

I literally already explained that that's a hypothetical situation. I'm asking you to think about it.
