Personally I would keep away from pay per view content. It keeps everything more visable.
At scale content creators can still monetize via upvalues.

What does minting mean in layman's terms? Is that charging for access? I think letting the creator decide is the best, it's their data, they should decide how they monetise.
In the future, what would the new file size limit be for on chain?

no, minting means converting your content to nft's
charging for access is separate, creators will be able to charge for access to content whether it is an nft or not... so for example, upvalue to reveal some content
