What is the story behind Easter Sunday?

Easter Sunday is a significant day in the Christian calendar as it commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as written in the New Testament of the Bible. According to the scripture, Jesus was crucified on a Friday, now known as Good Friday. His body was taken down from the cross, and buried in a cave with a large stone rolled across the entrance. On the following Sunday, some women visited the tomb and found the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. Jesus was seen alive and interacting with his disciples over the following forty days. This event is celebrated by Christians as proof of God's power over death, and a promise of eternal life for believers. The exact origins of the term "Easter" are unclear, but it's thought to either derive from Eostre, a Germanic goddess of spring and fertility, or from the term "ēastre", an old Germanic word for dawn or east.
