I was in the 19th Special Forces intel so i see things much more clearly than most. You can approach intelligence gathering almost always as if you are an investigator or detective. You want to know psychology and understand motive and bias.

Unfortunately i think this is a legit and slightly naive(but very brave) young man with little training who is likely handing over too much information to chinese intelligence. Lets hope chinese intelligence is brave enogh to stand up to their superiors 2

We also used whats called the Socratic Method to find truth. Its a helpful self reflection tool. We also use 3 plus sources(of differing opinions if possible) in our research to ensure accuracy and differnt views get taken in to consideration.

At this point i think his best chance of survival is for millions of them to "illegally" hop online in the next maybe week and reveal their disdain for their treatment and likely then they would be jailed at worst as an example but at least likely no dead

I actually agree although i appear to be countering. The narrative that he is just a naive albeit brave young man was exactly what I was feeling as i watched. People are learning and getting very good at creating non-organic narratives in the digital world
