Watching a Panorama - Boeing's Killer Planes - I've never been interested in planes or such but this is fascinating, this MCAS system and the pilots not even knowing about it.

I wonder if open source designs could be safer. Bug bounties aren't used enough in my opinion.

Would that be payments to independant sources finding bugs? I can kinda see why they don't do that from a publicity protection viewpoint, keep it all in-house. Don't have a link but it was on BBC iplayer (UK weekly series called Panorama)
