I want to hear peoples opinions on this, because its a topic that often comes up in my household and while I think its nuts there are some pretty valid counterpoints being thrown around?

Say for example, if one continent was on one side of the "flat" world, Australia lets use as an example, to travel to the other side of the world there would surely be a discrepancy.... Flat earth just literally makes very little sense in my mind.
My argument on round (or at least cylinder)
If the earth was flat, how could you possibly travel around the world, Australia to South America, to Africa, Asia, Europe, North America. And if it were flat, wouldn't there be a difference in travel time?

The entire universe is flat therefore the Earth is flat. I know that might sound crazy, but that's the Theory of Inflation, and explains a lot.

I'd say the idea of flat Earth is rather preposterous as it suggests the unlikely conclusion of that we have been lied to by foremost scientists for generations. That's a big buy and total baloney in my humble opinion.

I personally think flat earth is a new conspiracy to separate right winged people.
We can settle the debate once and for all by using a grid of mini drones with mirrors and lasers and map the entire Earth. Problem solved.

I'm a skeptic. I realize that I've never seen the shape of the Earth with my own eyes. The only images available are computer generated. When I fly it doesn't look round, but flat. The horizon is always at eye level, no matter how high you go.
Why not book a ticket around the moon? Just don't come back and say yes, the Moon is round but I didn't see the Earth's shape as it was too far! 😂

If you believe in the Big Bang then that means you have to accept the physics of Cosmic Inflation.
You cannot have it both ways. Science says Cosmic Inflation must require a flat Universe.

While the best description of Earth is as a sphere (although reality is a holographic projection), Eratosthenes' experiment does not prove that at all, since it assumes the Sun is so far away that the incoming rays are parallel, begging the question.
This discussion leads very far away from the reality.

Ideas of flat or round are both attempts to grasp a tiny fraction of reality. To serve the most local goal.
