I’ve been gas-free for the last 6 years. I’m proud to say none of my money goes to funding massive $100m super pacs for GOP politicians or terrorists funding (Saudi Arabia, Iraq, etc) petrochemical tyrant regimes. I mine BSV with solar energy too.

How many watts is your setup? Any battery recommendations?

I have a kW powering a cabin :) Though I do have to supplement in the winter. And my AGW batteries don't last more than a few seasons despite regular reconditioning.

I've been thinking about making a PowerWall someday since it's just a bunch of 18650s soldered together.

62 kW. small but I’m happy. Tesla Powerwall. Expensive but best I could find for now. I hope it gets cheaper as they scale.

metal hydride batteries are my favorite option but they are still expensive because not as mass produced.

NiMH is an older battery tech though, right? I used to use them in a small manufacturing business mid-00's when lithium ion was still cost-prohibitive.

They were better than NiCads but memory + discharge rate were a real problem at scale.
