I usually dont get spooked easily, as i grew up a bit rough…

These movies didn’t bother me as much then - I thought - as they do now. It was just waking up to the fact that all these phobias were constructed by people and planted in my mind.

I think current parental controls are pretty weak. I remember the year I was 7 my family got rid of the TV and I started to read books every night.

Around the same time we got a Tandy CoCo and I started to learn to code; dad taught me and my cousin.

Later they went back to TV but not until I advanced many grades ahead of my peers. Bringing the TV back was a mistake.

I would have likely been classified as autistic if I was 7 years old today.

My daughters learned to find passwords I give my wife and to social engineer mommy into phone access, so I clamped down and made her change her passwords. 😂

I dont spend my personal time watching tv i loose my temper over advertisements and brainwashing technics, generally when we are both home on couch or if a good movie comes out we'll go together; it'll will be a horror flick

My first job was scanning the bible for my neighbor for 'the online bible' he disturbed bibles via cd to people, i made 500$ over summer and bought 2 mb ram for our 386 , lmao.. those were the days ;)

I used to be able to pick the key lock on our pc (dos) with a reshaped paper clip to access when parents were out, then windows 95 rolled around after 3.1 (which was useless) they put software password on, so i installed keylogger during alloted pc time :P

We had coco as well, i was very young i didn't get into comp really until our xt pc, then i got so hooked on the game civilization i went full tilt, then into bbs(s) and modifying renegade bbs software, doing ansi graphics, etc.

that being said, i do watch a lot of internet videos and still get the adverts, they just dont see as damn degrading as tv commercials

I’m just super sensitive, and having worked for an e-commerce platform that got into digital marketing too deep for me to stay involved ... I had to quit. My wife does not understand why I quit, and that’s one big reason.

The founder of the company wept as I did over what they have become. I just miss the days when people were not trying to “control the narrative” and instead just lived in reality.

I once thought i should do chicken catching, good money but not for me, couldnt grab the chickens, they just had this awful look in their eyes, i said i was sick from dust and sat out rest of shift in van, didnt return. Was 17 or 18 at the time

The whole operation was awful IMO, not really same situation as yours there, relating by comparing pasts to generate understanding of each other, glad you are working on your interests with a loving family. Sounds like your in a good place now ♥️

We are working on it. My wife is sick today so I’m on extra dad duty.

Thanks 😊 good for you for standing ground, i find jobs can sometimes feel very soul-less or rather the people in charge seem to have lost their compassion for basic human interactions; it's unfortunate it had to get to that, but things happen for a reason

You decision panned out well then, ultimately; now you get to work on personal goals and development going forward along with advice from close ones, i wish u luck now and definitely heading into MASSIVE new decade 🙏

We’ll see how e-commerce plays out. For now I’m basically just volunteering help with R&D until January.

The eco 3d housing idea is prime, with everyone talking green and sustainable, and lack of access to housing for less fortunate, that is a great goal. If i get onto these mushrooms the way i want to maybe we'll get to develop something together 🤞
