How could you:
- upload something from a publisher who doesn't currently use Bitcoin
- associate a domain name owned by the publisher
- publisher can claim tips in 5 years by proving domain ownership

This has problems but interesting anyway

"5 year" was just an ex, could be any time.
The main problem is it doesn't ask the publisher's permission first :(
For that reason alone this may not be the right use case, but it still seems like claiming funds by verifying domains could be really cool.

Hey @888 did my post simply spawn a discussion/problem per your concerns, or is there a problem with my actual post? I have the same concerns too about publisher rights, etc., but in the case of my post, the photo is mine, and I simply linked to a YT video

haha it just got some gears turning, sorry if I set off some alarm bells.

I think there is a cool idea hiding in here somewhere. I wrote about something like this a couple years ago but the idea is still a little foggy / possibly terrible.

The gist of it is, how can you let people share things freely while still compensating publishers fairly? I don't know if it can be done but, I wish we could put stuff on chain and pay for it without waiting for the publishers to figure everything out.

Twetch ·

Right on! I thought that could be the case because of the "burn this to the chain" phrase I used. Ofc everything here is burned to it, and it's always something I think about before posting. I have even replied to my own posts with source/credit.

I think you're definitely on track with this topic overall tho. You've got my gears turning too, and I am sure there is a potential solution out there. How effective/embraced it could be is another thing. Perhaps I can touch base w/ya in Atlantis for more.
