Possible to do without becoming a communist society?

Twetch ·

It is impossible to take from the productive and give it to the unproductive at the point of a gun without becoming communists. Because it’s literally the definition of communism.

Twetch ·

Possible to do without becoming a communist society?

Twetch ·

Yes, totally agree. Do not support endless basic income which would allow society to be lazy pigs.

Trying to think of how to jump start a “New” economy.

Maybe like a one time 5k when you hit 18, be wise and invest it or waste it

Twetch ·

Nothing more permanent than a temporary (world) government program.

Twetch ·

We need a thread on ideas to re-invent how we live...today the system is built for the few not the many.

Twetch ·

We know 100% that the system is broken.

We need to think about how to build a new one...

Education
Money
Healthcare
Transportation
Economy

All of these need over-hauled

Twetch ·

Exactly why we are on @twetch now...

“WE” know the system is stealing our data...

So a New system was born (@twetch). This needs to be done throughout the other industries.

Twetch ·

I used to think the same, but say people with disabilities just can't fulfill their basic needs without some help. The government does it very inefficiently, but it doesn't mean it's a bad idea overall. Basic income for all would fix it if done properly

Twetch ·

If I give someone something of mine, it is my decision, not yours. Remember that and we’ll get along fine.

Forget that and try to take what is mine by force and you’re gonna have a bad time looter.

Twetch ·

Good words, but it is a little deeper than that. You have to pay tax, like it or not. That is taken away from you with you agreement or without. And in modern world, I can't imagine a society without taxes, unfortunately. Overall,I do agree with your spirit

Twetch ·

You seem to think that the nation state, an fabrication that has only existed for a few centuries, will always exist.

Where we’re going we don’t need roads.

Twetch ·

💯 % Accurate

Twetch ·

So, Society today just lacks people who will “give” others opportunities.

The Wealth Gap.

Twetch ·

How do we solve the Wealth Gap?

Twetch ·

Does the Wealth Gap need to solved?

Very Complex Questions.

Twetch ·

When fiat dies, reality rejection disappears. People will either learn to make more pie or they will starve and not contribute to the gene pool nor share their values with the next generation.

It already happened, but time dilation allows for denial.

Twetch ·

Maybe we won't need roads, but we'll need courts, police, army, etc. (at least for some time). I wish we could kinda game save, defund police for example, and see how it runs. then load and learn not to do it ever again.

Twetch ·

What are you talking about?

Twetch ·

No one said we had to defund police

Twetch ·

Do we need the government to mow your lawn? How about fold your clothes? Do we need them to put gas in your car? Does the government need to open grocery stores?

The funny thing about money is that you can pay it to people so they’ll do things for you.

Twetch ·

What?! Your losing me hear. Never said one thing about the government or defunding anything. I said we need to empower people that is all!

Twetch ·

I was replying to @13201 not you, just riding on your reply.

Twetch ·

Many people say it these days (to defund police). Lost in all these replies. Anyways, (nation) states need to exist for us to have such utility as public police for example. There is no other way to get fair and equal justice.

Twetch ·

This is getting way off topic. You are saying this is how the world is and it cannot be improved.

Twetch ·

Ok, start over. The world is B+ (way better then ever been before). Can still be improved, via evolution, not revolution. UBI is this kind of evolution. We can't make everyone a millionaire, but If anyone still starve in 2020, we can fix it with UBI.

Twetch ·

It isn’t anyone’s obligation to take care of people from cradle to grave. Some people enjoy doing it and private charities have existed since the beginning of history.

When the government stepped in they destroyed the private charity and the church.

Twetch ·

This is about choice, not obligation. The more someone tells me I must do something the less apt I am to actually do it. I help those who were given a bad lot in life. But it is my choice, not my obligation to do so.

Twetch ·

That’s what I’m saying Merit Based.

Don’t think “UBI” that’s [their] phrase.

Twetch ·

The “Entrepreneur Bonus”

Twetch ·

Everyone deserves a shot to fulfill their idea. Idea Suppression must end.

Twetch ·

That’s all I have to say, Ideas and many imaginations have been deliberately suppressed for decades. This must end.

Twetch ·

It's extremely hard (impossible) to measure merits. You'll end up with another bureaucracy for that. Give a few hundred a month to everyone (based on economy level). To most people that few hundred won't change life, but to others it will be life saving.

Twetch ·

We just need to imagine new things, we have been so indoctrinated for so long many people can’t even imagine new ways of living.

Twetch ·

You just proved my argument.

“I can’t imagine”

Twetch ·

True-When Fiat dies reality rejection disappears which should allow for an equitable playing field

Twetch ·

No, government only needed for things that cannot be done any other useful way. It's called Minarchy. How can you do policing for example? Private police? Volunteers? Mercenaries?

Twetch ·

Correct, Choice. We chose @twetch because we wanted to be rewarded and reward others for their content, opinions, and etc.

Twetch ·

No, it's impossible to solve wealth gap. Nor do we need to. But we can solve life satisfaction gap. If your basic needs aren't covered, then you will never be able to get up. UBI is a tool to pull you up to some human level. Moving further up is on you

Twetch ·

100% agree. I guess most people would, but you can't help everyone. Charity or church pick and chose. Meaning some people get it, others don't. UBI is more fair. Everyone gets it. Again, that shouldn't be much, but should be just enough to cover basic needs

Twetch ·

All that would happen is landlords would raise their prices and grocery stores would do the same knowing that each person had a set amount of money coming in.

Would you then suggest that the government mandate the maximum price for goods and services.

Twetch ·

We have already been down this road for Universities and Health Care. Once the government subsidizes something the quality drops and the prices go through the roof.

Twetch ·

UHC is completely different. They mandate procedures.. UBI is simple. You just pay, and don't care how people use it. If they buy drugs, then fck them. If people violate law, this money can be used to pay penalties (which in turn discourage bad behavior)

Twetch ·

Again, the prices of all of the “basics” (rent, food, etc) as you UBI communists call them would just rise and people wouldn’t be able to afford those “basics” anymore.

What would you do to insure the price of “basics” doesn’t rise?

Twetch ·

i'm not communist. quite the opposite. anyways, if basic rises, then people can move to cheaper states (or find a job if they want to stay). if they can't or not willing to work, then move to a shed in Utah, play PS4 and live almost for free there.
