There are two pedals on every (road legal) car designed to accelerate the car.

automatic or manual?
shift knob is not a pedal but a clutch is theoretically needed to go fast on a manual transmission....

Twetch ·

A car can accelerate by speeding up by slowing down. Which is what the speeder and the brakes are for.

Not quite sure about the second interpretation though :)

Twetch ·

If you disagree with that statement, you're thinking differently than I am about it. There are two different interpretations under which this is accurate. Think about it. Find those two interpretations.

Twetch ·

Is the second pedal something inside or in front of the engine?

Twetch ·

This is really good practice for developing sound thinking patterns.

Like everything has a polar counterpart, acceleration also has a negative equivalent. Operating the brake leads to a negative acceleration.

Twetch ·

if you wanna go fast on a track you need to break as well..

Twetch ·

Good. Both interpretations, found pretty quickly.

Acceleration forward, or back.

And, to go fast safely, you have to be able to slow down in a controlled way.

This is why BSV will win. It's supporters know how to think.

Btw, some Nissans have just one pedal both for acc and decc.

Don't forget, all cars also have a wheel for acceleration.

Twetch ·

Ha, true about the wheel. Well played.

As for the Nissans... Really?? That's odd. I've never even heard of that.

Twetch ·

Not sure I would prefer it, but yea https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/sep/06/new-nissan-leaf-has-one-pedal-driving-mode-for-both-accelerating-and-braking

Twetch ·

Huh. Odd. But it has both pedals still, it appears. Not sure what I think of it though. I'd have to drive it to know, I suppose.
