All the Twetchers who come here go right to complaining about the UI. Myself included. Twetch did something right, that's for sure. What I miss most is having a site that's easy on the eyes where you can brows through your own and other people's posts easily. I don't know how else to put it. I really liked being able to see the posts of a profile in a row and without the replies. I understand that treechat is much more rizomatic, so to speak, but both could probably be combined.

I wasn't actually complaining about the UI, that I like pretty much. I wanted to show why it is a bit difficult to understand when using mobile browser, which is where most people are using apps. if you want to make onboarding easier, a clear mobile UI is needed. it's where 90% of new users are landing the first time and if you want to keep these users they need to understand the app in less then 2 minutes or else they will never come back again. To create an app isn't hard, but to build up a userbase that keeps coming is.

any kind of constructive feedback is good. i will literally pay for good feedback (coming soon) [[toupvalue]]

That's cool. I like to test apps and help them grow. When I like the concept of an app, like I do for treechat, the reward of making it better is worth more than the money. ;) I appreciate very much that you listen to your users and are open to feedback. that's not the case for many builders.

one of the experiments we are going to run when upvalue comes is whether we can build an economy on top of the community, and in the process create a meme/information/knowledge market so at any given moment you are looking at the most valuable content possible

Twetch did some things right, but there were also things that were really bad. Here's some of my thoughts on that, best case scenario they help Treechat: In my opinio the greatest mistake Twetch made was marketing their product/service as an "earning site". This attracted beggars, scammers and "damsels in distress", which was a disaster. The idea that users in general earn on such a site is ludicrous. At scale top accounts would make money, most NEVER WILL. The expectation that average social media users will "earn" money from posting nonsense either turns people away disillusioned once they realize its not happening, or makes them resort to begging and emotional blackmail which makes everyone else turn away.

my hope is that treechat will grow into a sacrifice for signal site. sacrifice to identify valuable knowledge site. [[meme market]] [[free market algorithm]] site. this is the payoff for everyone but the paretos will earn in a variety of ways

some people will do this explicitly others will hopefully come for community and fun but if the incentives are set up correctly we should all be consuming the most valuable content at any given moment
