what features do you need? Could you setup syncthing on your mobile and computer? one way sync: mobile -> computer occasionally to free storage space on mobile.

do they need to be encrypted?

Sharing with other family members into a single repository. Sync would work but would have to be selective and not too cumbersome. Mass upload capability is a need. Encryption is a nice-to-have. Just trying to get away from the Alphabet Inc. panopticon.

Yes. I wiped a Moto phone and installed LineageOS. Liking it so far.

yeah, been using f-droid and getting APKs directly from app devs…just downloaded aurora store and dig it so far, so thanks for that reco!
