Good point on prohibition. I think it might be helpful to focus on the distinctions between government and law. Certain laws are fundamental to humans, e.g. life, liberty, pursuit of happiness. But, when someone infringes upon that law, who enacts justice?

How about this novel idea...don't put all your eggs in one basket? There are plenty of other assets one can hold privately. Other than that, know your rights. In the US, 5th and 14th Amendments cover the right to own property.

That is a promise by a man which could be broken. You only have Rights that You are willing to die for. The state gives two shits about your Rights and in most cases is the one selling them to the highest bidder.
