A Twetch competitor with sub cent fees for likes, comments, posts will seriously hurt Twetch.

At scale these numbers make sense. Using the app will be 100x more fun.

Not sold on the idea that the cost difference has an impact on content quality.

memo.sv exists but nobody cares. weird but put something behind a velvet rope and make it expensive and people will walk right by the free/cheap stuff to line up to get in

Twetch ·

What you say is true but Twetch has better marketing/UI/UX also.

Memo has none of these at all.

When a Twetch competitor shows up, I’m certain these guys will lower the Twetch prices to compete. Right now they seem to have a corner on the market. I think the only competitor is MetaTalk.io and it’s still different in a lot of ways.

Lastly, we can’t have the same type of interactions here in Twetch that we have in the Twitter cesspool & expect it to be monetized the same way. There’s a value to all data (even negative value). We’re learning what’s truly valuable and what isn’t.

Twetch ·

And making social media something users can monetize directly is so innovative. There’s going to be a lot of trial and error along the way. Those that criticize, like we-all-know-who, are being impatient and not embracing experimentation. Twetch is trying!

Leaving room for a competitor to arise, instead of being proactive, is stupid from a business perspective.

On the other hand, Twetch is kinda buggy now so they aren't ready for the masses.

About value. You may think a piece of content is valued at 10 dollars but I think its valued at 10 cents

I’d say they’re being pretty proactive, but for them to fill every void so soon is unrealistic. And there’s no reason they can’t absorb a competitor in the future and add it to Twetch, or be absorbed by a big player that eventually enters the space.

Yes, value means different things to different people, but it must have value to someone. MUCH of the content of traditional social media is not valuable to anyone, just an addictive distraction. Like heroin being valuable to the junkie, it’s not good.

There’ll be ways to target those interested in specific value you provide. It’s coming soon, I’m sure. Hashtags would be helpful for Twetch. We could specialize in posting valuable info for those interested in searching for it. And use “preview” twetches.
