Try something a little different today... No real cost to you, but plenty of benefit.

When you have a short stretch to walk today, walk with intention.

Pay attention to every detail you can, and direct your footfalls with purpose, not mere habit.

We don't pay enough attention to what we're doing every day. We just do things.

It's like driving with your eyes closed. You may be able to get down the street eventually, but not safely, and not quickly.

Trying 100% Twetch today and 0% Twitter. So far so good.

Twetch ·

Well, that's good too, but not quite what I was suggesting lol

I'm talking about non-digital actions. Analogue world attention.

Learned something similar for hiking. You have to be deliberate in your footing to ensure safety out on the long trails.

It’s easy for me to pay attention to every step, I live in the woods and do tree work, every step counts. You can miss so much beauty by not stopping and smelling the flowers 🌺
Taking time out of your day to look at the day and yourself is important.

Exactly. Even if you don't stop, just paying attention properly changes the moment from something to move through, to something you live within.

This is one small part of living a life you can heft.

Going to a local town festival today. That's analogue :)

Good exercise @Matthew.

We live most of the time in the future and don't appreciate the present moment. Our way of thinking is: "What's next?"

Not how most people walk.

Have you ever noticed how the air feels moving around your fingers as you walk?

Or the way your weight shifts with every step?

Twetch ·

isn't that just called walking?

The biggest thing for me is that our brains never actually get tired. But we do get burnt out on certain things. So, practice using your attention deliberately and you will expand your capacity to focus and direct yourself with intention in other things.
