we had it and turned it off. not as good as upvalue

it is in fact much better than upvalue

how so?

I would like to have that feature as a second option. Treechat should also receive a fraction of locked value.

it was taken out as an option by user request as it made upvaluing confusing. when would i want to lock? cui bono?

it just adds complexity for im not sure what gain, as upvalue is a better signal since it is a larger sacrifice for the sender, and also incentivizes the author who receives it, also easier to understand and explain
