the tool i'd like from knovigator [[knovigator feature request]] is a shared checklist, with an easy way to copy an unchecked version of the checklist, where the thread gets categorized according to the next undone item

what would you use this for?
what i'd use it for is evolprocs, but you don't even need to be evolproccing, you could just be organizing anything at all,, so like if you had a private space w/ some people you could use it to implement a basic democratic process: there's a list of the steps something has to go through to be approved as a group decision,,,, for small groups it could be as simple as having each person's agreement as a checklist item, & then it'd sort out which things need which person's approval next
or you could just use it for a process for making some art together, where there's a list of the steps & people can do the next step, maybe there's a step to make the background or w/e,,, you could use it for organizing the progress of a discussion or debate, w/ first introducing arguments & then various stages of discussing,,, like literally anything that goes in steps??!!
like what's weird to me is that this doesn't exist, why am i explaining to you what you'd use a checklist for,, everything?!? everything from going shopping around the corner to administering a complex bureaucracy, checklists are a basic tool that we use make things happen
some checklists are a just a list of things to do whenever, but some have a particular order,,, one of the main things you need to organize people or even just an individual life is lists of steps in order, so that you can make progress on things that require a particular order of attention,,, & then it's just the most basic obvious useful automation to have something sort tasks by what step is next--- then you can do the things you're ready to do, like if you have 20 of a resource then you can go to the pile of tasks that require that resource next & do 20 of them,, or just it's useful for being aware of where your tasks are in terms of getting them done,,, just a totally basic productivity tool
when i realized that something as basic as checking things off of a list of things to do was completely absent from how we relate online it suddenly became a lot clearer to me how we're managing to be so completely unproductive together as a species

also tagging inside a quest might be useful, but maybe not exactly what you had in mind... advancing items through stages deserves its own dedicated workflow most likely
