today my lesson is on working thru periods where I don’t have the strong artistic feeling. Mood comes and goes but I find it important to keep plugging away at least a little bit each day. Miss a day? No prob, don’t be too hard on yourself.

After an artistic lull, it's good practise to warm up on something like a background or an area that can be filled in easily just to get the muscle memory back between the brush & brain. Starting on something complex can compound the lull & frustrate.

💯. just doing something regardless if the flow is there yet can be enough to get it going.

Mediums and subjects are all different too. I found in oils I work best alla prima. I’m bad at day/week/month long drawn out art pieces. Probably biggest reason I’m in an ink and watercolor phase now as I can finish in one sitting
