Today at 10am I am in court against Jacobs Enforcement Agents and Plymouth City Council. ⚖️
This all began after I was taken to court over a single missed council tax payment of £63, following my decision to leave my midwifery role due to unsafe working conditions.
I’ve chosen to stand up and take this forward not just for myself, but for a greater cause — for my children, so that if they ever find themselves in a similar position, they won’t have to face this alone.
This is also for those who couldn’t fight, those who have lost their homes, and those who felt they had no way out.
Today is bigger than me.

bit dramatic...there are many different payments options, low rate council tax bands, and a lot of options. letting it go to an enforcement agent sounds like you wernt informed about various options or just didnt take them. I dont think you have much of a case but good luck nonetheless

Recent Changes: The UK government has announced changes to the late payment collection process. From April 2026, councils must wait two months (instead of three weeks) before demanding the full year's payment after a missed instalment, and administrative costs for summons will be capped at £100. This provides more time for residents to arrange payment plans before facing court action.
