Title: On the Acquisition of Talent
(Written by Dr. Lee Yang-hee)
: When we say talent, everyone seems to vaguely know what it means, but in reality, we do not know how to accurately evaluate a person’s talent or how talent is acquired, so we think of talent as something that is simply innate. However, this talent refers to the sum total of knowledge and wisdom that a person has learned and acquired over a long period of time, as well as the skills to express one’s thoughts through the body. To put it simply, the talent of an individual can be said to be the information of the universe that is input into a life and the ability to communicate with the outside world through the body.
However, this talent is not something that is inherited from parents according to the laws of heredity as most people think, but rather a tower that is built through one’s own efforts, and the talent that each person currently possesses is a tower that has been built over an astronomical period of time. And even if we say that we have accumulated talent throughout our lives, except for those who end their lives on the right and efficient path to enlightenment, the amount of talent acquired by ordinary people is so minimal that ordinary people think that talent is not something that is acquired but something that is inherited from their parents.
However, the talent that we are born with is actually something that we have accumulated little by little throughout our countless lives, and parents only play the role of providing a body that can fully demonstrate the talents that their children have. In this way, a life lives by waking up and being active during the day, discarding the body after death, and sleeping for a long time, and while living and being active, we accumulate talent little by little through experiences.
If you think about it, a person's life cycle flows in a cycle of about 240 years, but in fact, if you consider how much talent an average person acquires in one lifetime, it is insignificant.
However, the important thing is that all living things born on earth do from birth until death is to accumulate talents, and if you look at it that way, the purpose and work of being born into this world for humans is to accumulate talents and play a part in the evolution of the earth, and all the consciousness that people feel as desires, such as comfort, pleasure, wealth, and power, are nothing more than a few desires derived from physical characteristics. That is why Jesus praised and blessed those who increased the number of talents in their lifetime, but rebuked those who did not increase their talents, saying that they would burn them all in a fiery pit for living a lazy life.
Therefore, the only thing we should do after being born in this world is to increase our own talents, help others increase their talents, and give birth to children to create opportunities for other lives to increase their talents. In this way, humans play a role in the evolution of the Earth, and this is the cause and purpose of human existence. Throughout the long history of mankind, countless philosophers have developed their own theories of life, but the conclusion is this. Therefore, living a fulfilling and rewarding life means increasing our talents, but the problem is that if we know the details of how talents are acquired, wouldn’t we be able to accumulate talents more effectively and quickly rather than living vaguely?
And what we must also know is that the happiest and most rewarding feeling among the consciousnesses felt by humans is the feeling we can feel when we accumulate our talents, and a person who diligently accumulates talents is completely guaranteed a life of happiness and blessings, even if all other conditions are poor. In other words, no matter how good the conditions of life are, true happiness and reward do not exist for a person who does not accumulate talents. Therefore, the conclusion is that our lives are activities of accumulating talents, and only those who diligently accumulate talents can live truly happy and rewarding lives.
So what is talent and how is it acquired? Let’s take a look.
First of all, talent was mentioned a little bit earlier, but if I explain it more specifically, when we say talent, we generally think of people with excellent talents in the arts, sports, crafts, and literature, but talent here refers to the virtues of truth, goodness, and beauty that a human being must accumulate in a balanced manner. * Truth is understanding the cause-and-effect relationship of all things in the universe and reaching the state of omniscience. * Goodness is understanding the discovery of the great self and the unity of all harmony, losing the concept of individuality and reaching the concept of the whole.
* Beauty is expressing the sublime cosmic information as a beautiful phenomenon that is harmonized and balanced through qi. We call the entirety of these virtues of truth, goodness, and beauty ta…
