From time to time I feel so outrageously and excessively heterosexual and manly that I make a Twitter account hoping a dose of gay will lower my testosterone to normal and healthy levels. I joke, kind of. Anyway. Checking in on different accounts once or twice a year taught me something that I like to call the influencer spiral. Those who live off of other people's attention (influencers) are very likely to enter a spiral where they spent more and more time on social media and increasingly lecture people on things they know absolutely nothing about. They get carried away by the teacher-trap (always giving an answer/take, just to keep the perceived position of "authority") On top of that their views tend to become more radical and fantastical as time goes by because that's the only way they can think of to not lose the attention of their "followers". It's a very sad thing to behold and it is much easier to see if you only check in on them in long intervals, just like it's easier to be aware of the aging of someone you only see once a year and not every day.
