The Three Prongs of Shiva's TRIDENT is one of the Original Symbols symbolizing the interplay of the Trigunas (Energy Strings) of ALL CREATION in the Macrocosm (Universe) but, in the Microcosm (Man), the Three Prongs repesent the Three Nadis in the body; IDA, PINGALA and SUSHUMNA.
The Ida Nadi is the left prong associated with the moon, SHAKTI, intuition and subconscious mind. The Pingala Nadi is the right prong associated with the sun, SHIVA, logic and conscious mind.
These Two Prongs are the Taoist Yin & Yang OR the Masonic Twin Pillars, Boaz & Jachim.
The Two Pillars on each side are the Ida and Pingala, Shiva and Shakti, the Solar and Lunar Channels. In Genesis they are called Adam and Eve. While the Kabbalist call them the OD and OB.
The most important PILLAR of ALL is the Middle Pillar, known as the Sushumna Nadi.
The Sushumna Nadi is the CENTRAL Prong of Shiva's Trident. To the Yogis, this Nuetral Point is called the Sushumna Channel while Kabbalists called it AOUR.
These Two Pillars, OD and OB, Ida and Pingala, control the Dual Current of the Sexual, Creative Energy.
The Goal of the Yogi is to control the Ida (OD) and Pingala (OB) nerve-currents, and then send the current of coiled-up energy through the Center of Spine (AUOR) or Sushumna and transmute the Sexual Creative Energy.
This is shown in the Caduceus, the GLOBE is the Nuetral Point.
The Kabbalists say the Three Pillars represent Wisdom, Strength and Beauty. In Hebrew, these three words are Gomer (Wisdom), Oz (Strength) and Dabar (Beauty), a clever acronymn for G.O.D.
In Sanskrit, the Spine is called the Brahmadanda or the "Stick of Brahma'".
