A few thoughts on this Bot 🤖 controversy today on Twetch.
1. Many early users have this misplaced hope that Twetch is a nirvana of happiness and value. That will often let you down. Find happiness on your own. Don’t depend on others. Even Twetch.

2. If you are looking for a solution to this 🤖 invasion, it is not going to be found in waiting for the funding to run out. Fact is a popular celebrity or account will likely always have enough interest such that their Tweets will make it onto Twetch.

3. I am sure Twetch will launch solutions that likely make Twetch even better than before 🤖. Beyond filtering by human vs. 🤖, can imagine where you see posts by those followed by who you follow to get a human touch without necessarily removing all bots.

4. Twetch to me is still fundamentally a place to store my thoughts immutably and made publicly available for others to see. That the latest or top also until now often suited me I never took as anything other than temporary and coincidental.

I feel like the user experience so far has been a small message board for BSV enthusiasts, joined largely by the shared interest in BSV/CSW. The only difference being a slight fee to participate. As it grows everything about the small town feel will die.

5. Having said that, even if 🤖 are a net positive thing, the connected human feeling has been a key to Twetch’s early growth. Preserving that magic will be the challenge and it’s one I’m sure the team is excited to tackle @4 @2 @3 @1 & more.

great thread
one thing twetch has (and will continue to have) is a culture of people who are true to their word
people paid for these bots & most of them are real people posting (albeit to twitter)
following feeds matter, latest was never scaleable
