I thought it would be easy to make bitcoin successful because it's such a good idea but almost everyone just got tricked into ruining it.

I didn't know people would have so much trouble with it.
People don't get it because it is such a new paradigm. In a way it's also a good sign of how groundbreaking the changes will be once its potential becomes recognized.
But yes it takes time and work, and much more than we all thought.
