Think of it this way: you are writing to the chain. Being a popular transaction is a hard thing to do. Non-sequential writings tied together over time w/ peers and friends. A ROI is a bonus.
I feel like I now have a good theory as to why there can't be a robust block chain crypto market.

Block chains need lots transactions to pay miners. Each chain has a "resistance" to transaction current. Equation of resistances in parallel roughly applies.
