When I think of the universe as a blockchain or preferably as a timechain what we have is a model of the universe that is both discrete and continuous. Transactions in time are immutable but in space they are not.

Remember this is only a model. The human brain 🧠 has only the ability to construct a simulation of reality within itself.
That is to say, we only know a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of reality but sometimes we may feel 100% connected to the universe and personally I have only ever felt that through martial arts.
