If they don't they will face an amazing backlash, I can see some exchanges trying to screw him but I bet the exchanges that will reach out to him will be good exchanges that will allow him to sell without any issues. Also he is giving most of it away.
A backlash is much preferable to chain death. They will not go quietly.
