I think calendar is an energy map. Ancients weren't stupid, i believe their calendar have secret principles, and the passed down festivals (calendar marking) must have implicit meaning. This came to my mind when i saw a particular sea creatures.

That horde of multi-color sea creatures only appears ONCE A YEAR, ON EARLY MORNING, and on the same date! If they're humans, my theory can be suspected as conspiracy theory. But this is animals. How could they conspire together to appear on same date?
