Completely untrue; not only on an individual level as per the mechanism of homeostasis, by which any organism, down to the atomic up to the galactic, reverses entropy, but also interdependently by means of symbiotic win-win relationships.

Life is a stable (impermanent), self-sustaining system that can propagate - sounds like a kind of phased-equilibrium to me.
