just realized a flaw in my emergency food stash. I have lots of canned sardines and smoked trout. Great protein, compact size, good shelf life and the price is great but the thought of eating fishy smelling stuff when ill is terrible.

True that. My items are an array of dried beans, lentils, white rice, brown rice, and couple gallons of apple cider vinegar.
