thanks so much even though I dont really understand what I'm thanking you for other than assisting me to continue down this path. Ive watched that overview you sent once, along with the other videos that were there. I will watch again and try to digest what this is all about and how to be a better participant in this community. Please direct me to where I can learn more - that would be most appreciated. I know some of the theory of bitcoin but dont own any. I lost money early via a bitcoin scam.. I have just downloaded edge.app so that I may be able to legitimately participate in the Bitcoin community in the future. Coming here to Treechat was inspired by an interview I saw between Raphael Le Verde from Cryptovigilante.io and Todd Cave from Conscious Man 7. I would like to help people like the lady who read my post on here, that want to create their own healthy cosy shelter in a way that pleases the soul and in a way that creates indepedence from the system -especially the banking system. I dont mind pointing out that a very large amount of people energy and time goes into securing and and maintaining shelter (which has become commercialised away from its true roots that provide better protection from the natural elements and the unatural elements of debt and bills ) and it doesn't have to be that way. My backyard sleeping pod space is a good example to show what I mean and from which to draw inspiration and direction. I created www.mudfunaustralia.com to be the vehicle for this vision (which I have shared with over 20,000 people mostly children and their families via schools and community groups ) and now I want to explore other ways that I can share it more broadly and deeply to provide real positive changes in people's lives

In Treechat you write threads, for yourself or to share with others. I can either write in the private stream to keep a diary, take notes or collect research or favorite content, or the public stream which is where you're writing now, which is a place to share any of those things
you can create your own streams if you want to do a group chat or dedicate a stream to some topic
threads consist of messages like most other chat tools but here you can press any message and it will branch off into its own thread... for example you can press this message for why this is useful
when sharing in public, instead of upvotes we lock small amounts of bitcoin to signal how much we value the content of that message. this works bc when you lock up your bitcoin for some time you incur a small cost (unable to use that money) and so this small sacrifice of scarce bitcoin is proof of your subjective judgement and can be measured against how much you or others have locked against other messages
in this way we can rank the information we encounter for ourselves and others and prioritize our collective attention
for example i just locked on your message to signal that i value it... this will make it show up in the top threads section of the public stream and will show it higher in search results

Thanks this is helpful. So was this space created as a creative unique way for people to use their crypto instead of just holding it? Temporarily put their money behind their values? Encourage people to share more info?
