Were you generating enough revenue to where it was becoming a tax issue, or did you just want to preventatively sort it out first? I’m concerned for the first heavy user of micro-transactions to get an IRS audit. Eek.
It's not the revenue that mattered here, but the cost of dealing with it all.
The fact is, the IRS doesn't care how much it costs anyone to comply with their rules, or if the rules are ridiculous in this context. "We have the power to..." is their MO.
Sadly you’re right. IRS doesn’t care what it costs someone to prove their tax dues. It could be a small fortune lost just to pay a pittance.....
