Tell me something about yourself that has nothing to do with Bitcoin.

Something many don't know about me: I teach kids how to swim and have coached competitive swimming at various levels in the past.

Now this is a good thread to wake up to.

Thanks for all the responses, everyone.

It is your non-Bitcoin life experiences that bring value into Bitcoin. I'd pay for more of that in my feed.

As my name implies I'm kierin man. I enjoy Japanese aesthetics and lifting heavy things in pursuit of speed on my track bicycle. If I ever get my velodrome license maybe i'll get a custom BSV jersey.

@iusebsv@ why are you focusing on the line and bandaids? There is so much more to pay attention to. Boredom is a choice.

You can feel every little ripple of the water against your skin, anywhere on your body. Ever changing, ever present. Not boring.

Twetch ·

Count your strokes per lap, count your laps, pay attention to your pace, notice the way your breathing changes, how your muscles adapt as they warm up, cool down, reach or surpass threshold.

Twetch ·

But don't ever use boredom as an excuse, because it's not legitimate at all.

Besides, an excuse is a request for permission to fail, and I sure as hell won't give you that permission. Why are you giving it to yourself?

Twetch ·

And above all, recognize that swimming is just the process, not the outcome. Think about what you're gaining from participation in the process? From the quality of input you're applying to the process.

What are you really trying to accomplish?

Twetch ·

Pay attention to your buoyancy, how your body balances, the pressure of the water against your hands, arms, legs, feet as you propel yourself, and against your head, shoulders, body as you experience drag.

Twetch ·

Then if you somehow get bored of all of that... Fall back on muscle memory and use the time to think about something completely unrelated. Solve a problem. Think about the meaning of life. Do mental math.

Twetch ·

Notice the temperature of the water, of the air, and feel the line of the surface on your body.

Feel the pressure of the water around you, how it increases as you dive, decreases and changes as you reach the surface.

Twetch ·

I liked swimming, in my early 20's doing lengths like crazy. Had to give up though, staring at the black line, I couldn't take watching the floating bandaids any longer.
If you're my coach what would you say to help me?

Twetch ·

And I don't think anything more needs to be said on that topic :)

Twetch ·

Yes, Matthew Zietzke you are a thoughtful swimming instructor with coaching skills most definitely. Just closing my eyes, concentrating on a balanced stroke to stay inline.
Swimming is so good for you!

Twetch ·

Swimming is incredibly good. Full body, including the mind. Low/no impact, too.

Twetch ·

I am father. I made many children and I still do, and to be honest,
there are better dads than me in taking care and growing some of them.

I Love traveling, i personally believe everyone needs to find a way to explore the world more. you gain a different perspective of cultures and personalities. Plus the world is freaking beautiful if you ignore the nonsense noise.

Twetch ·

I think the theory of panpsychism is really interesting.

Twetch ·

Breign, I can relate to that, though I'm not yet a father. I've made all sorts of mistakes in my life. We can only ever do our best and learn from our mistakes.

Twetch ·

Lesley, I'm not familiar with that theory... Explain?

Twetch ·

Rico, I agree, the world is insanely beautiful. So few people create the opportunities required to see and understand that.

Twetch ·

Panpsychism is the idea that consciousness is a fundamental feature of all matter. There is something that it is like to be a rock, no matter how minimal, even though it doesn’t fit the traditional definition of consciousness.

I try everyday to be as smart as I can be. also I am so cheap I brew my own beer. & I am very good at it. as well, I love to fly airplanes. I have been a pilot for 22yrs. And simple is best. & I read the bible regularly.

Twetch ·

I have great respect for those who adopt crafts for themselves with such a long and wonderful history behind them.

Twetch ·

Thanks for the explanation, Lesley!

SirNewton, brewing your own beer is not a sign of being cheap, especially if you're good at it. It's about creating something with such historical and cultural weight with your own mind and resources.

Twetch ·

I've been to over 40 Countries
