I suspect that social media is always going to suck regardless of whether or not you own your data or pay? It is early so I am cynical. Twetch basically resembles twitter for ease of conversion. but twitter was designed so serve the old model...

I thought a great way to get people to convert to blockchain would be to set up a site which would convert Facebook data to a similarly formatted social media site. Wouldn't have to abandon all your old pictures, etc., nor spend time uploading them again.
The incentives of everyone choosing to involve themselves will get fine-tuned over time & it should trend up.
