When asked why he did so, he said:
"I want it knowned that Bitcoin acts within the law. I want to make sure that judges and courts understand that bitcoin can be frozen seized and accessed with court orders. I think destroying the keys was the only way, otherwise people are going to force me to do something I don't want to do"
