Strong black espresso coffee with a teaspoon of salted butt…

Strong black espresso coffee with a teaspoon of salted butter in it is pretty good. Not tried it before.

Helps with a 22-hour fast.

Coffee is filtered by your liver, thus you are not fasting.

I should qualify.

A fast is no ingestion of carbs or protein, or anything that will result in an increase in insulin. Butter and coffee do not do this, therefore does not break the fast.

Wrong.

If it is a good coffee I prefer it butterless :)

Twetch ·

I believe you - relativity :)

I usually do @243 but 18 hours into a fast a butter coffee tastes amazing.

Have you tried bulletproof coffee? So delicious and perfect for this. 1tbs of unsalted grassfed butter, 1tbs of coconut oil, blend together with a cup of coffee for a creamy frothy texture. Gives you some good fat and minimizes crash effect.

@931 that sounds great, thanks.

Sorry I checked again and she says that scientific research shows that there are benefits but there's the question:

“If you were not to consume it, would you have a more robust effect? We don’t know.”

She is really good. You should check her out.

Indeed it does. Bulletproof

add a little MCT oil, as well

You could use heavy cream instead. It is compatible with fasting since it has zero carbs and zero protein... plus it is delicious.

I began to fast a few years ago. I do a 24hr fast 3 days a month. I would recommend this to everyone for the numerous health benefits it delivers. Regular fasting can ease and prevent many health complications and lead to a longer happier healthier life.
