I’m a college dropout too
Twetch ·
I used to be a top student but university became a joke for GenX and beyond because they admitted double the class capacity into classes too small to fit us all and took in C math students into A minimum programs.

The first year of CS was insane; they admitted students that had absolutely no chance of success and they knew it.

I gave up on biology because the microscopes were trash and they would tell us to just pretend we could see what the lab manual said we should be able to see.

Once the internet made it possible to learn from the absolute best teachers and professionals and profs in the world the education system became obsolete.
Twetch ·
I realized I could build more through learning on my own and of I wanted I could go to university classes for free

What is the point of the college life - you must study what you are curious about not study for a piece of paper.

Sorry for the rant, but I have heard way too many graduates complain about never wanting to touch organic chemistry again after their Master’s degrees and I cannot blame them. I have taken more courses than most people and still don’t have a 📝 so what?

I am blessed to have had a father that taught me the only way to learn is to teach yourself.

“I realized I could build more through learning on my own and of I wanted I could go to university classes for free” - exactly.

Expensive paper on the walls is no substitute for a love of learning and the current mainstream education system in North America is busted.
