Personally, I think that Bitcoin at best could be a new start AFTER almost complete destruction (war, cataclysm, whatever) - if electricity survives. As for now, this new global civilization was very easily infiltrated, taken over and crippled.

It is being born right now... and having to face the incumbent system... all part of the process

I was chatting with my friend Shirley this afternoon about this. In my novel, The Bitcoin Singularity, the plot holds the distinct advantage that the financial collapse has already happened and that CBDCs were tried and failed. I think in this environment, adoption becomes much more likely - inevitable even. Not that I’m cheering on the collapse or anything, but it’s a hard sell right now whilst everything is, nominally at least, still ‘working’ and bills are still paid in fiat.

We are obv building on bitcoin, and my goal is to provide use cases and experiences that can only happen on bitcoin... we have some theories about what those are but I think the more we build, experiment, and iterate we will show something new, which can only be done on a public blockchain in which case we will not have to wait for fiat to go away because we will be doing something they can't do

I think you’re absolutely right and that’s the most direct and best way to promote uptake. I’d like to be able to stream compute time with my bitcoin too. I think that would be a compelling use case. You’re not far off doing that here!
