spaces is a huge feature... but we could start with spaces on X if there is interest just to keep treechat community updated, and migrate over when we implement treechat native spaces

Yes. Before the programming effort, first see how it goes at there
It's better to start a Spaces feature independently from X for everyone, not for Treechat Community only. I think the move would be almost instantaneous from X just like it's happening now with people on X moving over to Upscrolled because they like the vibe of the "uncensored underdog being able to express oneself". In this climate of repression Treechat could encourage people to have a place where they can have conversations without being afraid of having the ADL or similar coming over to arrest them.
one small problem there is a few of us who are active on here now dont use twitter half as much so we would miss that space.
I check treechat at least twice daily, I check twitter maybe once a week since i found treechat
theres too much noise, misdirection, lying, click bait attention farming on twitter. treechat feels more personal and people's posts and thoughts actually have value because people that use treechat feel more like real people with real opinions who are interesting; twitter feels like braindead lost sheep following crowds to get some form of self worth. dont get me wrong twitter can be a good marketing tool and good for small amounts of engagements but I feel testing spaces directly on treechat and then once a successfully version or progress has been then update the twitter folk of the progress being made. a kind of "work in silence" approach rather than publicly twittering the process.
just my opinions on the topic of course. other people's opinions may vary. either way I believe in you and @arghzero and I believe in treechats longevity and success
Further thoughts about taking over the social networks
To truly take over, Treechat needs to move beyond text and static images. If you can successfully integrate Tree-Videos and Audio Branches, the market dynamic changes.
Tree-Videos would be the TikTok/Upscrolled Killer. Imagine a video feed where you don't just "swipe up", instead you have Branching Content. A creator posts a 60-second video. Instead of just commenting, you can "branch" a video response that stays physically linked to the original.
Every "like" could be a 1-cent micropayment.
On TikTok, you need millions of views to make a living; on a blockchain-based video platform, a niche audience of 1,000 dedicated fans could provide a full-time income.
As for Twitter Spaces: that is a "live or nothing" format.
Treechat could revolutionize this with Asynchronous Audio Trees.
Threaded voice, instead of one long messsy 2 hour recording users could leave high-fidelity voice notes that franch off specific points in a converstaton.
Plus, AI summarization.
An AI could listed to the "audio tree" and provide a text summary for people who don't have time to listen to the whole speech.
But, for that to appeal to the masses the interface must become grandma-friendly like Instagram... and users have to feel like "money" and "posting", not "sats", "blockchain", "crypto" etc.
I think that's a major necessary change for mass adoption.
I think if Treechat can polish the user experience to match the power of the backend, it vould move from a niche tool to a primary destination taking ove TickTock, Upscrolled, X, and everything in between.
Yes, we need another platform wherein people claim to be supportive & subsequently call each other retards when others speak above pay grades.
