Once in a while I meet someone who reminds me of the time when ideology wasn't an insurmountable barrier making it impossible to even talk to each other. You disagree and it's perfectly fine and even makes foe better conversation.
it is rare, isn't it? I swear these past few years I've become acutely aware of trigger words and topics.
Funny enough, it seems to be getting for frequent again in my life. To the degree that I become fully aware of how much of a mask I've been wearing around strangers just to not trigger them. And I'm sick of it.
that sounds like some good new ground. I personally don't like conflict but appreciate when others are honest and push the edges in conversation. Was one of the reasons covid was hard for me (good for me) because I had to be honest and it was forced on us to be so with the masks, the shots, the temperature taking, the tests, all which I declined.
It's unbelievable how fast we got to the point where people like me hide their true self because of the extremely angry reactions people have to benign views that conflict with their ideology. I guess that's the experience people in every totalitarian system have. "Everything is political".
