You can check out an android custom ROM, which is called "GrapheneOS" and ironically only runs on Google Pixel devices.
I tried a lot of different custom ROM's over the years.
I started with cyanogenmod, then lineageos, then ubuntutouch and sailfishOS and finally ended up on GrapheneOS.
So far the best user experience I ever had.
