On both sides of the fake political spectrum the idea of people "waking up" is very common. "If people only knew what I know everything would change". There are, of course, more problems with this idea that can be counted. Besides the obvious urge of the ego to self-identify as "awake"or "enlightened" no matter how asleep and ignorant we are, another big problem is that being unaware of corruption and tyranny isn't at all the main hurdle that keeps people from doing something about it. The herd only moves when things are already moving. The motivation of the herd isn't freedom or truth, it is comfort and safety. The herd only moves when doing nothing seems more dangerous than doing something. The herd will only "wake up" or grow up, which is far more important, if there is no more food on the table. Those who want to "wake up" the herd, which is problematic in many ways, should be interested in accelerating the decline we are already in, instead of engaging in the hopeless battle of fighting over the bridge of the Titanic. From this perspective the best presidential candidate is always the most "progressive" one. Now that the US had a senile old guy as president, who perfectly impersonated the state of Western Civilization, the logical next step is the Whore of Babylon, who will bring this corps a lot closer to its final destination. In other words: I wholeheartedly endorse Kamala Harris as the next leader of the dying West.

As in, roll on the apocalypse. Not sure I’m quite onboard with that. It could be genuinely horrific. I mean, it’s already horrific for many and in many ways, (e.g. https://x.com/olooneyjohn/status/1819682847080493200?s=61 and that’s just Europe.) I wouldn’t wish WW3 or famine, or nuclear armageddon on anyone.

Rather as in "it's better to remove the band-aid fast than slow." The pain is coming either way. The controlled (or dumb and useful) opposition like Trump hasn't done anything to change course, in fact when it comes to the core elements of the agenda it is always on board. And this is most likely the way a thoroughly corrupt system works: There is no candidate who can/will change the course of this ship. If there was one he'd be dead before you ever heard his name. But there are A LOT of candidates that generate fake hope that keeps people in line.

I don’t think I agree with that. There is such a thing as better and worse and I genuinely think Trump wants to minimise wars, which I don’t think is necessarily true for Kamala, or that she has the skills to avoid war. There are fates worse than death, such as slow death and torture, and I would rather have someone in charge who has some humanity, than someone who doesn’t when the hard times come.
