side note, and I don't say this to imply others should do this, but I believe local engagement can be impactful. I've been treasurer for a guy's campaigns in Tucson AZ for a couple years now (he's run for city council, school board, and now County Board of Supervisors). He is for freedom, and REAL inclusiveness which just means thoughtfully listening and not positioning, and a truly independent voice though of course the media says he's a right winger, lol.

My guy in Tucson is losing massively to the incumbent. Not super surprising. Tucson is a hot bed for progressive left, smart city, all the things.. Very dirty politics and embedded cronyism.
We got him on the Tucson School Board a couple years ago though where his voice matters. The schools were absolutely insane during covid. What they did to children incenses me.
Real conversations happen in local campaigns. It's a powerful medium for talking with others about things you care about.
