A short but steep hike of 4.5 kms from the stunningly beautiful #ChoptaValley in #GarhwalHimalayas takes you to Tunganath Shiva temple at an altitude of 12,074 feet. It is known to be the highest #ShivaMandir in the world.

The trail and the slopes are covered in thick blanket of snow in the winter months and the arrival of spring season turns it into a place dotted with densely stunning rhododendron flowers in shades of red and pink, both on the trees and the walking trail (fallen ones).

While the rhododendrons do not survive beyond 4 weeks, the arrival of summer season followed by the monsoons, turns the slopes into velvety green interspersed with wild mountain flowers in riot of colours.
