Shill me WeiBlock.
Disclosure: I don't trust ChiCom crypto companies.

I haven't visited Wieblock since the first day, but for me there's no reason to spread myself across 2 sites. It's the Asia alternative to Twetch, which is cool with me.

Weiblock works very well and I made 1$ just in the first few hours.
Weiblock puts you in contact with a different culture and different ways of thinking. For any curious and open mind it's an interesting experience.
Interacting being cheaper is a great bonus. Still much work to be done but it's real competition to Twetch.
Thanks for the info, dudes. If WeiBlock had a translation feature akin to a BSV Lingua Franca, that could be interesting.
Weibo = WeiBlock
Twitter = Twetch
...but I see them remaining divided by East and West long-term.
The people using Weiblock are very hospitable and welcoming and I have nothing but positive things to say about the platform. I don't think there's any "chicom" related issues there. They're building on BitCoin, and they prefer inexpensive communicating :)
I actually made a comment about Hong Kong protests not too long ago. Reactions were mixed. People on both sides of the fence. Weiblock staff kindly asked to refrain from politics, since they don't want the government to shut them down at this early stage.
Apps like Weblock and Twetch use traditional databases to index posts, users, likes, etc. So censorship is technically possible.
Would be interested to see what happens to accounts that spam Hong Kong protest posts, for example. Or anti-Xi memes.
@1264 That's how it starts. Look at DLive/Lino, the pseudo-blockchain streaming site funded by ChiCom VC. Started off relatively tolerant, then more restrictive, now banning anyone mentioning HK/Winne the Pooh memes.
Thanks for sharing, very valuable info
Try discussing the Uighur Muslims camps
Might post on weiblock about the persecution of the Falun Gong to test this theory.
这就是我不使用weiblock的原因
In this case, posts can be verified on chain, what else is there to trust?
